Y-Optics Vector (Technicals)

Learn how Y-Optics Vector evaluates trend conviction, momentum oscillators, volume order flow, and volatility squeezes without cliff effects.

What is the Y-Optics Vector?

The Y-Optics Vector is a proprietary technical analysis engine ($0\text{–}100$) that measures short-to-medium-term price momentum, moving average trend conviction, volatility squeeze compression, and volume order-flow confirmation.

Unlike basic retail screens that suffer from binary “cliff effects” (where a single penny crossing a moving average causes a massive score drop), Y-Optics Vector features continuous piecewise linear interpolation surfaces ($\text{clampLerp}$), dynamic ADX trend multipliers, and FX-neutralized local chart auditing.

Technical Signal Classifications

The technical score starts at a baseline of $50.0\text{ pts}$ (Neutral Equilibrium) on a normalized $0\text{–}100$ scale:

  • Strong Buy ($\ge 80%$) [Emerald]: Powerful trend alignment, confirmed high-volume order-flow, and strong momentum expansion.
  • Buy ($\ge 60%$) [Teal]: Bullish trend state or oversold mean-reversion bounce confirmation.
  • Hold ($40%\text{–}60%$) [Gray]: Rangebound, flat consolidation, or neutral indicator equilibrium.
  • Sell ($\le 40%$) [Amber]: Bearish trend state, distribution volume pressure, or overbought fatigue.
  • Strong Sell ($\le 20%$) [Rose]: Severe trend breakdown or heavy distribution. Triggers the Falling Knife safety gate in Y-Nexus.

Core Quantitative Mechanics

To eliminate whipsaws, Y-Optics Vector evaluates indicator spreads continuously:

$$\text{Score}_{\text{Final}} = \text{Clamp}\left(50.0 + \sum \text{Points}_{\text{Continuous}}, ; 0.0, ; 100.0\right)$$

1. Dynamic ADX Trend Conviction Multiplier ($0.5\text{x}\text{–}1.5\text{x}$)

Instead of treating the Average Directional Index ($\text{ADX}$) as a static threshold, $\text{ADX}$ acts as a Conviction Multiplier on short-term trend spread points:

  • Strong Trend Regimes ($\text{ADX} > 35$): Multiplies trend spread points by up to $1.5\text{x}$, rewarding strong breakout momentum.
  • Choppy / Rangebound Regimes ($\text{ADX} < 15$): Suppresses trend points down to $0.5\text{x}$, preventing false trend signals during sideways consolidation and allowing mean-reverting oscillators (RSI / Williams $%R$) to lead.

2. Continuous Short-Term Trend Alignment (Price / EMA 10 / SMA 20)

Measures moving average percentage spreads in local asset currency to eliminate foreign exchange noise:

  • Smoothly interpolates price-to-EMA and EMA-to-SMA percentage spreads ($\pm 5%$ range) into ADX-adjusted trend points.

3. Continuous Primary Macro Trend Cascade (EMA 50 / SMA 200)

Audits macro market regimes by measuring the percentage spread between the 50-day EMA and 200-day SMA ($\pm 10%$ spread range).

4. Mean-Reverting Momentum Oscillators (RSI 14 & Williams %R 14)

  • RSI Surface: Continuously scales points from $+12\text{ pts}$ at deeply oversold $\text{RSI} \le 20$, down to $0\text{ pts}$ at $\text{RSI} = 50$, and $-12\text{ pts}$ at overbought $\text{RSI} \ge 80$.
  • Williams %R Surface: Continuously scales points from $+5\text{ pts}$ at oversold $%R \le -90$ to $-5\text{ pts}$ at overbought $%R \ge -10$.

5. Volume Confirmation Order-Flow

Evaluates the current session’s volume relative to the 20-day average:

  • Rising Price Bars: Rewards high relative volume ($+6.0\text{ pts}$ max at $\ge 150%$ volume) and penalizes low-volume rallies ($-3.0\text{ pts}$ penalty at $<70%$ volume).
  • Falling Price Bars: Penalizes heavy selloff volume ($-6.0\text{ pts}$ pressure at $\ge 150%$ volume) and rewards low-volume pullbacks ($+3.0\text{ pts}$ safety at $<70%$ volume).

6. Volatility Squeeze Compression (Bollinger Band StdDev)

Detects volatility compression ($\text{StdDev Pct} \le 1.2%$ of price). Squeeze points ($+4.0\text{ pts}$ max) scale continuously with standard deviation contraction, rewarding upside breakouts in bullish trends and penalizing downside breakdowns in bearish trends.

7. Gravitational Support & Resistance Ceiling/Floor Proximity

  • Resistance Ceiling Risk: Applies a smooth gravitational penalty (up to $-8.0\text{ pts}$) as price approaches its 60-day resistance ceiling ($0\text{–}5%$ distance).
  • Support Floor Safety: Applies a smooth safety boost (up to $+8.0\text{ pts}$) as price approaches its 60-day support floor ($0\text{–}5%$ distance).
